The Geelong Field Naturalists Club have had a long association with Jerringot wetlands which is a significant habitat for Latham Snipe and other waterbirds. As the wetlands are near a busy road and council depot and in an area subject to flooding, contamination with rubbish is an ongoing problem for these birds.
